How To Be Romantic In A Relationship?

When a relationship is established between two people, naturally, they have some feelings, perhaps already love for each other, however the feeling of love itself and the ability to show it are two different things and thus it is extremely important to know how to be romantic in a relationship. Perhaps you already know how to find romance but not how to be romantic, and here are some basic points to keep in mind.

How To Be Romantic Individually?

The first important lesson you should learn is that though there are traditional symbols of romantic love in our culture, like candles, chocolate, roses or baths, these are not the best ways to get to everyone’s heart. Even if you read a variety of articles and books about how to be romantic, the most important thing is to get to know your partner, his or her individual and unique mind and spirit.

Not everyone will like roses or chocolate, and thus, you will definitely have to find personalized ways to charm your partner. Think about what really gets your partner excited and interested. Is he or she interested in books or old movies, classical music for example? Express your love by taking him or her to a concert, or buying a book from a favorite author. There are no prescribed steps that will tell you how to be romantic and what to do exactly, you will have to understand and get to know your partner specifically beforehand. However, when you surprise him or her with a special gift, your romance will deepen and your present will really be appreciated, your partner will know that you truly care for him/her.

Monotony versus Romance

If you want to know how to be romantic, you will also have to understand that romance is the opposite of monotony, of the habitual, everyday routine you will find yourself in after a time. Being romantic means that you are able to bring surprises and novelties into this monotony. Plan a romantic night out with your partner, for example to celebrate your love, not only when you are celebrating a birthday or a specific occasion. Or for example if you are having children, arrange a weekend away from your home and from the children, go up to the mountains, or be impulsive and fly to a European city to attend an art exhibition, for example, if you know that your partner would appreciate it. You can however also be romantic in the everyday routine, compliment your partner, help him or her in more stressful times, or just give a foot-massage after a hard day. Being romantic does not have to mean big or expensive things, just try to pay attention to your partner’s needs and spice up your life with some additional excitement sometimes.
